Local Projects
One of MissionWay’s core goals is to serve our local community. We constantly seek opportunities to serve people in need. Our mission leaders organizes church-wide projects on a regular basis. We seek partners throughout the community, plans events, and provides ongoing support to the mission activities of our Community Groups.
To date, our projects have included a range of activities: preparing and serving meals in shelters, collecting clothes and toiletries for homeless families and other local organizations (L'Arche Harbor House, Family Promise and Seamark Ranch), providing food to emergency workers during the holidays, making Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets for families in need, working with Habitat for Humanity on homes in our area, and operating "The Christmas Store" to serve families in our community. We also believe that Jesus teaches us to serve and be among the poor.
Homeless Outreach
We have recently begun a homeless ministry to reach out to those in need in our community. Click here to learn more about this outreach opportunity.
MissionWay also brings families and children from our nearby communities together to join in a week of fun activities, Bible study and fun during our summer Kidz Bible Camps.
This summer we’re going on an exciting journey with our Kidz Bible Camps. As our lessons take us on a journey across America, our kidz will learn that by choosing God as their guide, they’ll arrive at the ultimate destination—a relationship with Jesus! Camps are 10am-Noon, Monday through Friday, for kids age five to 12. Our camps will take place in three neighborhoods this summer:
Johns Creek – July 26-30, Turner Home, Host: Jean Turner
St. Johns Golf & Country Club – August 2-6, Woody Home, Host: Melissa Woody
The Oaks Apartments – August 9-13, MissionWay Offices, Host: Maria Miller
