“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”
We partner with Hope Multiplies, an organization that equips local churches to address our foster care crisis. We can do this through being “responders,” which means we meet specific needs of families facing the possibility of children entering into foster care or families who are currently fostering children in their home. We have a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these children and families.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS (“RESPONDERS”)
We need people to sign up to become “responders.” This means you will be entered into the Care Portal database. When a local family has a need, it is entered into the system, and churches are the first to receive an email about this need. You can then decide if you would like to meet that need, which could be a variety of things like praying for this family; providing a meal, diapers/formula, a bed/mattress/crib, clothing; donating money toward getting these items; helping to pay rent for a single mom who is trying to keep her kids; or delivering items to a family.
Our church then has the opportunity to deliver the items directly to the family that has the need. This also allows us to build a relationship with them and share the Gospel.
We know that as followers of Christ, we are called to care for widows and orphans and to serve the least of these. Through Hope Multiplies, we can make an impact. We hope you will join our team of responders.
If you would like to become a responder, you can sign up here. You will be in contact with our church’s champion, Ashley Jensen.
